OHNHR Podcast 2 David Nibert, Steve Best, and Gary Francione

In this podcast, I talk about sociologists David Nibert's structural approach to his argument that the animal movement needs to be anti-captialist if it is ever to succeed.

Also, Steve Best's and Gary Francione's approaches to animal advocacy. This podcast was originally recorded in 2012 and a good deal of shift has occurred in the position of both.

While Best's position has become more reasoned, Francione's has become more and more individualistic. I particularly recommend Best's "Total Liberation" talk. Francione has begun to see himself as a countermovement to the existing animal advocacy movement. However, he seems more marginalised than ever, and pretty much irrelevant now.
