OHNHR Podcast 41: Under Pressure with Jake Conroy

Welcome to On Human-Nonhuman Relations Podcast, number 41, with my special guest, Jake Conroy.

Animal rights advocates will probably know Jake best as an activist and then prisoner with the SHAC USA campaign. You may also have seen Jake's entertaining YT channel, featuring themes such as Are We Winning?, My Friends Do the Coolest Sh*t, and Three Minute Thursdays.

We talk about being behind bars, political prisoners in general, the methodology of counting the number of vegans, among other things. In the main, however, Jake makes the case for a return to pressure campaigning in the vegan/animal rights movement(s).

We don't have time - literally - environmentally - for one-person-at-a-time vegan campaigning which is all the rage nowadays, says Jake.

Do you agree?
If we are to see the return of pressure tactics, what would that look like in a world of surveillance and monitoring?
